Bill Proctor built Epicenter on down-to-earth principles for structuring both technical and creative capabilities into engineering teams. His more than 20 years experience in industrial engineering and organizational development with more than 120 world-class organizations stands behind GreenRoom Engineering—the unique process he designed to create vision, value and cost savings far beyond traditional engineering and consulting methods.
A registered industrial engineer and a dynamic speaker as well as a hands-on GreenRoom project leader, Bill counts among his areas of expertise lean manufacturing techniques, simulation modeling, productivity improvement, facility planning and design, work standards development and management skills training. He is NIST-certified to teach lean fundamentals and value stream mapping, certified in Genisys and 4M work measurement systems, and has completed the PMI project management curriculum. His simulation modeling experience includes ProModel, Flexsim, Witness, Process Simulator, and Simul8).
An Ohio State University graduate in industrial systems engineering, Bill earned his M.S. in Organizational Development and Analysis with distinction from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. Among his many professional and community affiliations, Bill was Past President and Treasurer, Toledo Chapter, Institute of Industrial Engineers; Small Business Advisory Committee, Cuyahoga Community College; Member, Organizational Development Connection; President, Harvard Avenue Charter School.
Mark Symington, director & lead engineer
As both a specialist industrial engineer and a manager, Mark brings engineering skill and leadership to creating strategic and sustainable solutions for Epicenter clients. His experience comes from leadership positions with a number of industrial and engineering organizations, from DaimlerChrysler Corporation to L&W Engineering, as well as consulting relationships with more than 30 companies.
In the course of more than 25 years, Mark has guided clients in productivity analysis, work standards, facilities layout, lean manufacturing assessment and implementation, focus factories, and design and implementation of new products and processes. He earned his B.S. in industrial engineering from the University of Toledo and is Past President and Senior member of Toledo's Chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineering. His many certifications include Modapts, Error/Mistake Proofing MPT200, Design for Manufacturability (DFM); and, he is trained in lean manufacturing and design and has extensive experience using MOST.
